When you sign up you will be required to pay via PayPal for the class. PayPal
takes most major credit cards. When a student registers for a class, they will
receive a receipt from Paypal.
This is your receipt for the class. Then about 10 days before the class
is scheduled to begin, the student will be sent the supply list and other
information you need to get prepared for the class beginning. The student then
(or anytime after that) needs to sign up on the forum at
classes.helpinghandmade.com
This forum is for students and alumni only! Please do not register if you aren't
planning on taking a class or interested in teaching. There are some fabulous forums out there
for chatting about crafts, like "Craftster" and
"Get Crafty"! We urge you to visit those!
On the first day of class and on the same day of each week after that a
document will be posted to a special class webpage where the students login and
download it to their computer. All of the lessons are yours to keep and you can
print them to work from or pretty much do anything except share them with
someone else. This lesson replaces the instructor standing in a room and
explaining how to create the project. It should contain pictures and detailed
instructions that explain how to do your project. The student can then download
each of these lessons and work on the project at their own convenience (no
sitter necessary!). The student must have Adobe Acrobat Reader installed and the
teacher must be able to print .pdf documents.
Have questions? This is where the forum comes in. The student may post
pictures of the entire process and ask the teacher (as well as other students)
any questions. The forum is private and only the students for each class and the
instructor for that course have access. In order to participate in online
courses with us or to teach classes, you are expected to have basic computer and
internet skills. You need to be able to browse the internet, login to the class
webpage using an ID and password, and know how to download and save a document
to your computer's hard drive.
